MOST AS A TOOL TO SUPPORT THE DEPLOYMENT OF NEW MANUFACTURING PRODUCTS
ABSTRACT:
During the process of choosing a new product, the selection of those that are financially viable and economically profitable is crucial. It is essential to consider as important all the elements that influence the cost of a product. At this point of feasibility analysis, the role of process engineering is to analyze the manufacturing process and to predict, with maximum precision, the time required to manufacture a given product, since the manufacturing time directly influences the value of direct labor cost. The purpose of this research is to use MOST (Maynard Operations Sequence Technique), from Predetermined Motion Time System, to estimate the time required to manufacture a new product. This work, classified as an exploratory case study with qualitative and quantitative analyzes, was developed in a multinational industry of the audio sector located in the Manaus Industrial Pole. The analysis of the new product using image and/or sample served as the basis for the choice of assembly sequence, the first step to be developed for the use of MOST. Afterwards, the indices were applied for each activity performed during the manufacturing and finally the standard time of assembly of the product was calculated. The result of this research shows that through MOST it was possible to estimate the standard time of a new product and obtain the labor cost of R$1.82.

EVALUATION OF ACOUSTICS IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT, MAPPING AND ESTIMATION OF NOISE IN THE STAMPING SECTOR OF A METALLURGICAL INDUSTRY
ABSTRACT:
In this work a study of the acoustic problem in a metalworking industry of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, Brazil is carried out. The aspects related to the industrial environment such as the constructive aspects and the machineries in an area of stamping were analyzed. A mapping of the entire area of interest was carried out and the noise measurement points were selected at three different times, morning, afternoon and night. The results of the statistical analysis performed using statgraphics software demonstrate that there are no statistically significant differences between the noise levels achieved in different work shifts and that this condition is met for the case where the machines are working or not. The study considered to determine the areas that have the greatest noise affectation, proving that the average value achieved does not differ statistically between the different internal areas of the stamping process. All the information obtained serves as a guide for the company to establish the control measures, it is estimated that there will be a reduction of the levels of Sound Pressure Levels (SPL) emitted by machinery from the printing industry to the environment, guaranteeing a better quality of life for workers during the industrial working day.

USE OF CLAY SLUDGE WATER TREATMENT PLANT SLUDGE TO PRODUCE CERAMIC BRICK
ABSTRACT:
In the search for solutions capable of minimizing the environmental impacts from waste water treatment plant (WWTP) and reduce costs related to the final destination of the waste generated, the present work aims to evaluate the potential use of WWTP sludge by incorporating clay slurry to the production of bricks, in order to present an alternative environmentally correct destination for this waste. Sludge and clay underwent chemical and mineralogical characterization, through granulometric distribution, X-ray fluorescence analysis, X-ray diffraction. The samples were homogenized in the proportions of 0%, 12%, 14% and 18% of sludge in red clay, pressed at 25 MPa, and later production of test specimens which were then burned to a temperature of 900ºC. After sintering, physical and mechanical tests were performed to evaluate the quality of the final product, by means of analysis of the properties of fire loss, linear retraction, water absorption, apparent specific mass, apparent porosity, flexural rupture stress, moisture and plasticity. The results of the laboratory tests with the residue proportions incorporated in the clay mass demonstrate influence on the physical and mechanical properties of the ceramic material. The results presented show a similarity to that recommended and that despite the 18% (sludge) samples, in relation to the clay showed a variation in the chemical composition due to its high organic matter content, it was observed that both had SiO2, Al2O3 and Fe2O3. Comparing the results with the parameters established in NBR 15270-1, 2 and 3/2005, it was verified that the WWTP sludge can be incorporated in up to 18% in the clay mass for the manufacture of bricks.

APPLICATION OF REVERSE LOGISTICS IN HOSPITAL MATERIAL PROCESSES: CASE STUDY ABSTRACT:
One of the major current concerns of society is the environmental issue, precisely because this is a prerogative of great importance for the populations in terms of quality of life. International organizations have sought to develop symposiums, seminars, and global meetings that involve discussions on environmental issues. Since the 1992 ECO-Rio-92 world summit, Brazil has sought to develop a normative framework to foster mechanisms of environmental policies, an element that is already part of the 1988 Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil. Thus, this article addresses the Reverse Logistics of Health Services Waste in a public hospital in the city of Manaus-Amazonas, with the general objective of analyzing the reverse logistics process in the recycling of medicine and hospital material in a public hospital in the city of Manaus – Getúlio Vargas University Hospital (HUGV) based on the formation of an inventory of environmental/hospital interests, as well as specifically identifying the main characteristics of reverse logistics; verifying if there is flexibility in the application of the reverse logistics process in the recycling of medicines and hospital material; demonstrating a proposal for the application of reverse logistics to reduce the environmental impact caused by solid waste; understanding how the reverse logistics process can contribute to softening the impact of the environmental degradation caused by the incorrect disposal of medicine and hospital material in a public hospital in Manaus; and, demonstrating its environmental benefits to the city of Manaus. The methodology used included integrative review research, as well as documentary research and direct observation. It is concluded that reverse logistics is a way of obtaining environmental management within the legal parameters determined by the Brazilian legal system but cannot be applied in its entirety in the public hospitals of Manaus, which can make nosocomial disposal dangerous.

APPROACH OF PASSIVE FILTERS USING NSGA II IN INDUSTRIAL INSTALLATIONS: PART II ABSTRACT:
The optimization of passive filters in industrial systems has been presented by different computational methods. The objective of this paper is to develop a computational algorithm with NSGA II to select the configuration and design parameters of a set of passive filters for industrial installations. As a methodology, the optimization problem was addressed using three independent objective functions of innovative character for compensation of harmonics through passive filters as a multiobjective problem. The results were the computational solution to this problem that determines a set of Pareto optimal solutions (Frontier). In addition, the computational tool has several new features such as: calculates the parameters that characterize the filters, but also selects the type of configuration and the number of branches of the filter in each candidate bar according to a set of pre-established configurations according to PRODIST-M8 (Brazilian Standard) and IEEE 519-2014. Also determine solutions with good power quality indicators (THD, TDD and NPV) for several characteristic and non-characteristic scenarios of the system that allow to represent: daily variations of the load, and variations of system parameters and filters. It evaluates the cost of energy bills in an industrial power grid that has different operating conditions (characteristic scenarios) and evaluates the economic effect of harmonic filters as reactive power compensators.

A NEW APPROACH TO ECONOMIC?EMISSION LOAD DISPATCH USING NSGA II. CASE STUDY Summary
Economic?emission load dispatch optimization problem is an essential task in Q4 power plants with internal combustion engines. In power plants, in addition to electricity, a lot of air pollution by exhaust gases is generated. There are many international standards that establish the permissible limits of different substances but still have not developed an expression to evaluate the environmental impact caused by all components of the exhaust gases as a whole. A new method to evaluate this impact is developed in this paper. The developed mathematical expression was called “emission index.” To get a better idea of the environmental impact of each type of engine, the “specific emission index”, which is the emission index divided by the power delivered by the engine. This paper also presents a mathematical model for a multiobjective optimization of economic?emission load dispatch using nondominated sorting genetic algorithm II.
